My partner and I recently took a day trip to Baltimore, and of course, seafood was at the top of my list! Our first stop was amazing, but after some exploring, we found ourselves at the iconic Faidley's Seafood, located inside the historic Lexington Market. It's a name synonymous with Baltimore's seafood scene, especially their renowned jumbo lump crab cakes, so I couldn't wait to dive in. I opted for the soft shell crab sandwich with fries, and let me just say--it was incredible. This was my first time trying a soft shell crab sandwich, and it did not disappoint! The crab was perfectly cooked, crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, with just the right balance of seasoning. The portions were spot on, satisfying but not overwhelming. As for the fries? Let's just say they didn't make it to the photo--we devoured them immediately! The atmosphere at Faidley's is a vibrant blend of history and charm. It's not just a meal, it's an experience. Whether you choose to eat inside or outside, you're surrounded by the lively energy of Lexington Market. The service was equally impressive--fast, friendly, and efficient. You can tell they take pride in keeping everything clean and welcoming, which only adds to the overall appeal. Faidley's is a true Baltimore treasure, and I can see why it's been a staple for generations. If you're a seafood lover, especially a crab enthusiast, this spot is a must-visit. From the food to the ambiance to the impeccable service, it's an experience I'd happily revisit anytime!

Faidley's Seafood never disappoints! This is the second we visited Baltimore and going to Faidley's Seafood is always on our list! This is the best crabcake I have tasted so far! I am also a fan of their soft-shell crab sandwich! Plus, the service is very efficient! I got my food very quickly after I ordered! We sat outside of the patio to have our food! The atmosphere is very nice and clean too! Can't wait to come back!

This place is where you need to eat in Baltimore. Standing tables surrounded by framed news articles and kitsch. We got there at 10am and it rapidly started to fill with the lunch crowd. The manager was so friendly and entertained our questions about sides and specials. Whatever main you pick, get it as a platter. The portions look small but the food is dense and flavorful. I had mac and cheese and fries with my coddie cakes (a potato croquette with cod that's deep fried). The deviled eggs were sweet, which is different from what I'm used to, but no regrets here. My friend had the jump lump crab cake. It was actually all crab meat, no filler, and cheaper (around $24-25) than the sit down restaurants were offering. She was told to try it with mustard instead of tartar sauce, and she finished it so fast the recommendation must have been solid. Stop here for real seafood.

What can I say? Faidley's seafood is a Baltimore institution, period! My crab cake was mouth watering, the clams were delicious as always. Lew and Jaime are the backbone, service is awesome. I hope they never change! Coach Owens

Why this place only has a 4 rating is a mystery. However, I admit I haven't tried but 1 thing from them. I come for and only order the crab cakes. I wish I had room in my tummy for the oysters on the half shell too but I don't. so I stick with my FAV-the crab cakes. If these aren't the best crab cakes in the USA, please tell me where this other place is so I can go there too. You order from the counter, pay, and get a ticket # for your food. Your crab cake come off the line directly to you. You eat standing up at one of their bars with condiment on the bar. It's been done that way for years, traditional now. Part of the Faidley's seafood experience. Aferall, you're in a food market. If eating in a market, standing up ain't your thing go eat 2nd rate crab cakes in a sit down restaurant elsewhere. I love the entire experience and the ambiance. There is paid tiered parking nearby. I live closer to DC than here. I stope here anytime I am in a 20 mile radius to B'more.

We were in Baltimore for a day and absolutely had to stop by Faidley's Seafood. This place is a true Baltimore institution with so much history and so much good food. The servers were all incredibly friendly and told us to check out all the newspaper clippings and photos on the wall. Naturally, we got their famous jumbo lump crab cake. I was absolutely blown away. So fluffy, flavorful, and packed with fresh crab. The best crab cake I've had ever, period. It came with a light salad on the side as well. We also got their cream of crab soup, which was delicious and hearty. I left without trying their Maryland crab soup, but immediately came back to try that as well (couldn't help myself). So savory, I'm glad we came back to give it a try. I hope to be back in Baltimore one day to get the jumbo lump crab cake once more!

The folks at Lexington Market could not have been more welcoming and friendly. I think the perfect time to come is right before lunch. Parking is easy. The half a block walk across the street is easy, and Faidley's is the first stall you see as you enter the market. I was short on time after walking the market, so I decided on a jumbo lump crab cake. It is one of the finest crab cakes I've eaten. Very little filler and lots of giant lump crab pieces. It's pretty decadent and comes with a little side salad dressed with an Italian dressing. I also got a selection of local oysters. They work really well with just a squeeze of lemon. I do wish they were cleaned and shucked better...mine were a touch muddy/dirty and there was a loss of oyster liquor. I wish I had more time to try a steamed crab. This is a really great place to come check out.

It's been quite a few years since I've been able to come to my favorite crabcake stop in Baltimore and it's just as good as I remember it. I went for the platter of the jumbo lump crabcake with fries and my hands-down favorite coleslaw of all time. The stall along with others around it have been updated but the food is exactly the same. The crabcake is just as large with very minimal filler and the slaw is perfectly seasoned and not overdressed, the fries were also good but an afterthought with all that other goodness . The only thing that has changed are the prices as this is now $32 but worth it in my opinion.

Stopped in Baltimore just to go to Faidley's Seafood for a crab cake. I had both the Jumbo Lump and the Backfin. The Jumbo Lump was excellent but the Backfin was very tasty for half the price. We also had the clam chowder, very good. Will definitely return when in the area. No seating available. Pick your food up after paying at the counter, then stand up and eat on high top tables.
